It's time to begin thinking about the NFL

NFL season has finally started. This season I am going to attempt to follow the league in much more detail. I have joined my first NFL fantasy league (Neverland Slumberparty) and am competing with Mash under the team name “Jumping the Shark”. Please refer to the list below for my complete team roster.

Shaun Alexander
Clinton Portis
Drew Brees
Donovan McNabb (“McNasty”)
Deuce McAllister
Vernon Davis
Bernard Berrian
Terry Glenn
Mike Furrey
Jason Elam
Ladell Betts
Marty Booker
Green Bay

In addition to my initial venture into the fantasy realm (“league of dorks”; “fairytale football”) I have decided to write a weekly NFL gambling column. Noe and I will attempt to project the winners.

New Orleans +6.5 over Indianapolis

Obviously based on the Brees, Glenn and New Orleans pick you can see that I’m having a terrible start to the NFL season.

I feel like I brought $200 bucks to gamble with for the whole weekend and just lost $150 playing blackjack in the first hour. Let’s head to the craps table, c’mon!

Denver -3.5 over Buffalo
Pittsburg -3.5 over Cleveland
Philadelphia -2.5 over Green bay
Kansas City +1.5 over Houston
Tennessee +5.5 over Jacksonville
Atlanta +2.5 over Minnesota
New England +5.5 over New York Jets
St. Louis -1.5 over Carolina
Washington -3.5 over Miami
Oakland -2.5 over Detroit
San Diego -5.5 over Chicago
Seattle -6.5 over Tampa Bay
NYG +3.5 over Dallas
Baltimore +3.5 over Cincinnati
San Francisco -3.5 over Arizona

Update

UCLA -7.5 over BYU
Oregon -7.5 over Michigan

Facebook

The modern relationship has evolved because of Facebook. While I don’t want to give away the majority of secrets that the subtle nuances of Facebook provide us with, I would like to say our lives are now truly transparent. Insecurities, problems and attachment issues are now prevalent for the world to see and I for one find it extremely amusing. Even more amusing was the fact that I participated in this abstract culture at one point (the “lys”). Maybe one day I will feel more vocal and actually provide examples and dig deeper to those topics but for now I will just leave you all with that teaser.
